    Aetna Insurance & Drug Rehab

Drug and alcohol addiction and abuse have veritably spiraled out of control in the United States since the turn of the century.  A pretty good way to estimate the impact of substance abuse in the nation is to count just how many Americans seek treatment for addiction every single year.  To shed some more light on this, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) reported that well over five-hundred thousand Americans sought out professional drug and alcohol rehabilitation in the year of 2014 alone.

So, we know that a lot of people are seeking out drug and alcohol rehab and that a lot of them are looking for Aetna insurance drug rehab specifically, but when that five-hundred thousand is compared to the over twenty-million who are currently addicted, that half a million who sought treatment seems pretty insignificant.

Take cocaine for example.  One drug.  Not even the most popular drug.  But do those who take it need Aetna insurance covered drug rehab?  Most definitely.  Cocaine is one of the oldest and most addictive drugs in the entire world.  Cocaine is known for having the highest percentage of inevitable addicts who result from having used cocaine just once.

According to studies, an astounding seventy-five percent of people who try cocaine will become sorely addicted to it shortly after trying it for the first time.  This means that only one out of four individuals who try to quit cocaine usage will be able to do so without professional help and outside assistance and the other three out of four will need the help of a rehabilitation program.

Or even take crystal meth addiction, crystal meth being one of the newer drugs. Drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation (some Aetna insurance drug rehabs, some not) and treatment centers that are specifically designed to treat any type of addiction have recently reported a vast increase in the numbers of individual addicts seeking treatment for crystal meth addictions of varying degrees.

In 1992, there were only about 21,000 admissions into treatment centers for meth addiction.  In the year 2004 however, this number jumped to more than 150,000 in just that one year, resulting in an increase of well over seven hundred percent.  Then, in 2014, the number was in the upper hundreds of thousands.  Again, the need for rehab centers that are Aetna insurance drug rehabs and that accept other insurances too is now more apparent than ever before.

    Looking to the Future

Substance abuse and addiction is a crisis that grows daily.  With the growth of the problem, so grows the need for Aetna insurance covered drug rehab centers and programs and other programs that accept other forms of health insurance too.  The efforts of those who have started rehabilitation programs and who have pioneered good preventative campaigns must be applauded as they are quite significant, but there is still a lot of work to quell the rising tide of drug and alcohol addiction in the United States of America. In spite of all of these different, varying efforts, the issue still gets worse and worse every single year, with more and more individuals falling prey to addiction and more and more individuals dying because of addictions to drugs and alcohol.

If one has Aetna insurance, one should not hesitate to find an Aetna insurance drug rehab to go to.  No matter the addiction, some rehabilitation is better than no rehabilitation at all, and with insurance, it is possible that one will be able to go to rehab without having to pay out of pocket for it.

    Most Insurance Accepted

Unfortunately, most insurance only covers approximately 30 days of treatment. Some individuals, due to the type and specifics of the addiction or just personal preference, desire to stay in rehab for a longer period. In those cases, they would need to pay for the extra time out-of-pocket.

It is always a good idea to check to see what portion, if any, your insurance will cover for substance abuse treatment. If your policy will not fully cover all the costs, you could ask the program if they allow payment installments; or there is the option of medical necessity loan options.

You want to find a program that your insurance will cover AND is effective. Unfortunately, it is complicated which insurance coverage is accepted at what recovery center for what specific treatment protocols. The easiest way to know if you have coverage is to speak with one of our counselors. Besides being able to tell you more about what type of programs to consider, they will be able to compare your insurance coverage against each center’s acceptance.

Some might suggest, “Any treatment is better than no treatment.” Even though this is well intended, it is not true. Long-term studies show that those who relapse after treatment are far less likely to return to rehab in the future. This only emphasizes the fact that it is important to find a program that has proven to be successful. Do it right the first time.
