Caller: 29-year old man calling on behalf of his mother
Problem: Methamphetamine addiction
Seeking: Drug rehab treatment for meth
Reason(s): The son admits that originally, he wanted to talk about how to best address the situation with his mother, but a recent incident over the weekend has made it so that he only wants to know about how to help someone struggling with a methamphetamine addiction. He said, “My mother has been in and out of jail several times now, oftentimes she gets paraphernalia charges and someone else gets the ticket, but I fear that she is about to run out of luck. I have told her that she either changes or she is out of my life, and out of the lives of my family.” He said that her latest arrest really made him take notice, and he decided that she was either going to get help, or she was cut out of their lives. The son admits, “I am not entirely sure if she chose us over the drugs or if she just got scared because of the pressure. That is why we want to strike while the iron is hot, because we know that a relapse or a change of mind is just around the corner.” He wants to find a drug treatment program for methamphetamine addiction that has a history of success.
